I first met Davi when I was pursuing my master's degree at Newcastle University back in 2017. Unlike Davi, I didn't recall talking to him during freshers. All I remember was meeting another Indonesians (yes, there were 2 Indos at the time). Fast forward, we met again at an Indonesian Student Association (PPI) event. I was forced to say I was single at the time as it was part of the intro. Again, I didn't recall talking to him.
I minded my own business until one day I got a DM (very millennial, right?). I took a peek at his profile and tried hard to remember who this person was. Like a eureka moment, I remembered. Oh, this is one of the people I met at PPI. Being friendly, I replied to his DMs. Oh Sh*t, he asked me out!!! IDK what to do, I don't like him, but I'm scared I'll look too cocky if I refuse. So I said yes. He took me out for dinner and watched a movie; it was horrible. We walked all the way through, and the restaurant was closed. Instead of choosing a nearby restaurant, he asked me to walk (again!) into a dark alley for a Japanese restaurant. I was scared for my life.
At first, I didn't see him as a partner. I thought of it as just a nice companionship. However, he was very persistent and patient. He'd come over every day, amid the snow, just to see me. He helped with my chores, too. I guess hard rocks did get hollowed out by soft water.
Three years into our relationship and having passed each others' ups and lows, we decided to get married. Of course, with a proposal to officially start the wedding frenzy. We are so happy, and we can't wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony and reception in November!
